Role: Shift Heating Ventilation Engineer
Hours: 12 hours shift pattern: 4 days On, 4 days Off, 4 nights On, 4 nights Off
Start and End Time: 7AM – 7PM & 7PM – 7AM
Location: Coventry
At Mitie, our people are our greatest strength, and our promise is to create a place to work where you can thrive and be your best every day. We're looking for a Shift Heating Ventilation Engineer who will play a key role in delivering maintenance services across the healthcare estate.
Role Responsibilities
* Interpret and make judgements across a wide range of issues, understanding the complexity of pre‑planned maintenance, reactive maintenance, unplanned events and emergencies while working in a controlled manner.
* Diagnose and repair faults in engineering, electrical and/or plumbing installations, plant and equipment, adapting to new situations as they arise and sharing knowledge with others.
* Efficiently and effectively carry out planned, breakdown and emergency maintenance on a full range of mechanical, electrical and building services within the estate.
* Undertake installation work as part of new projects, refurbishments, or plant replacement programmes.
* Follow engineering and building drawings, delivering high standards of workmanship across complex systems and understanding the relationship between mechanical and electrical systems.
* Determine required spares, components or supplies to complete repair, servicing or installation tasks.
* Assist in training others undertaking mechanical work.
* Cover responsibilities of the Shift Team Manager when required, supporting day operational staff across all trades. [
* Actively monitor the CAFM system to ensure all tasks are assigned within appropriate timescales and issues are resolved proactively.
* Carry out PPM inspections, commissioning tests and reactive tasks in line with legislation and guidance.
* Observe statutory requirements including health and safety, Electricity at Work Regulations, asbestos, legionella and COSHH regulations.
Required Qualifications
* Experience diagnosing and repairing faults across engineering, electrical and/or plumbing systems.
* NVQ level 3 in Electrical/Mechanical engineering or equivariant IOSH Working safely
* Completion of a structured training programme in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering for a minimum of 3 years.
