This is key to enabling us to deliver on the promises we\\\'ve made to the people of Wales to build a sustainable transport network that meets their needs.Role responsibilities Lead on transport modelling projects and tasks, covering a wide range of modelling techniques and using specialist software (including Visum and SATURN), to forecast the impacts of transport scheme and policy interventions in line with client requirements while taking account of wide-ranging uncertainty in the factors affecting travel demand. This will include working with our supply chain to manage and maintain the three multi-modal Wales regional transport models. Maintain, update and operate the three Wales Regional Multi Model Transport Models, by working with our supply chain and by using specialist modelling and appraisal software (Visum, SATURN, Tuba), to deliver relevant quality-assured outputs to internal and external clients.Support project managers across Transport for Wales (TfW) and externally by providing and interpreting transport modelling data and analyses tailored to specific project needs, helping to strengthen the evidence base for transport scheme business cases across Wales.Prepare transport forecasts for WelTAG appraisals and other business cases across multiple transport schemes in TfW, by drawing on a wide range of best practice transport modelling and appraisal guidance, to assist TfW in making appropriate decisions regarding transport investment in line with the Well-being of Future Generations Act.Prepare method statements and fee proposals for transport modelling aspects of projects, by liaising with clients, project teams and our specialist supply chain, enabling wider transport planning projects to be delivered to time and budget. Who we\\\'re looking for Degree in transport planning, transport modelling, engineering, mathematics or similar subject. Demonstrable experience of delivering transport modelling services to clients and communicating information clearly and effectively to technical and non-technical audiences. Experience of using Visum and/or SATURN software for strategic transport modelling. Experience of working with transport-related datasets including outputs from transport models. Welsh Language Skills The ability to speak/write Welsh would make a great addition to your application, but it is not essential for this role. Transport for Wales supports and promotes the use of the Welsh Language by employees and will encourage them to develop, improve and maintain their Welsh Language skills.
