Main duties of the job
We are recruiting to expand our dynamic and highly motivated team of Practice Managers. You will benefit from being part of a wider team with support available from existing PMs across our sites together with an Area Manager.
The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal and organisational skills together with proven experience in managing people and monitoring performance targets in primary care. You must be highly self‑motivated, organised and able to motivate your team.
The ideal candidate will have excellent leadership skills, be confident with IT and enjoy working flexibly in a rapidly changing environment.
You will have the aptitude to support practice engagement with the wider health economy as required, such as local Primary Care Networks, local practice manager networks and community care providers, to ensure that we are consistently kept aware of best practice and new developments.

Job responsibilities
The ideal candidate will have experience in a General Practice Management setting together with an understanding of the rapidly changing healthcare environment.
Personnel and training
Managingthe administrative staff and non-clinical management of nursing staff, includingtaking lead responsibility for co-ordinating/undertaking staff appraisals &co-ordination of recruitment selection and training.
Ensuringcontracts of employment are provided to all staff and that all relevantemployment legislation is followed. Ensuring implementation of the practicesemployment policies and procedures.
Information technology
Responsibilityfor the computer system, including organising any maintenance and developmentsto the system. Ensure compliance with Data Protection legislation.
Premises and equipment
Responsibilityfor monitoring of security or premises, arranging repairs and maintenanceofpremises, services and equipment.
Ensuringthat the practice complies with aspects of Health & Safety at Work (HASAW)legislation.
Patient services
Implementingand maintaining systems to receive patient enquiries and suggestions, includingoversight of the practice-based complaints procedure.
Reviewingand updating the practices information leaflet/website, practice publicity andhealth education material.
Future planning
Keepingabreast of developments within the NHS that might impinge on the practice orindividual partners and offering options for consideration by the partners.
External relationships
Ensuringefficient internal and external communication, including being the focal pointfor contact with the primary care organisation, solicitor, accountant and otherbodies
