Job summary
We are currently looking for a Real-World Evidence Assistant to join our Scientific Data & Insight Function within the Safety and Surveillance group.
This is a full-time opportunity, on a permanent basis. The role will be based in 10 South Colonnade, Canary Wharf London, E14 4PU. Please be aware that this role can only be worked in the UK and not overseas.
Government departments and agencies are working towards implementing a minimum 60% attendance in office sites.
We are currently implementing a flexible, hybrid way of working, with a minimum of 8 days per month working on site to enable the collaboration and contact with partners and stakeholders needed to deliver MHRA business. Attendance on site is driven by business needs so depending on the nature of the role, this can flex up to 12 days a month, with the remainder of time worked either remotely or in the office. Some roles will need to be on site more regularly.

The Scientific Data & Insight function is responsible for developing expertise in house to deliver evidence to underpin regulatory science. Quality and speed of regulatory decision making is dependent on having access to high-quality, representative data in a timely fashion but also being able to access and analyse in house data and information in the most effective way.
Job description
What's the role?
The Real-World Evidence Assistant will support the delivery of the MHRAs Real-World Evidence Scientific Dialogue Programme as well as other real-world data and evidence initiatives within SD&I. The post holder will manage and monitor mailboxes, provide timely guidance to stakeholders and coordinate programme meetings and the application review process. The post holder will support the wider team where necessary and will need to work across the Agency, liaising with partners from across the UK health data ecosystem and key stakeholders. The role is based in the Real-World Evidence team reporting to the Real-World Evidence Specialist and operating across the SD&I function to support real-world data initiatives.
Key responsibilities:
* Support the delivery of the Real-World Evidence Scientific Dialogue Programme, ensuring any issues arising are dealt with in an appropriate and timely manner.
* Support the wider team by assisting on real-world data/evidence initiatives, such as a Data, Methodology and Endpoint Qualification (DMEQ) Process and internal research projects such as exploration of health and administrative data from multiple sources.
* Develop excellent working relationships with external stakeholders and work collaboratively with internal stakeholders such as epidemiologists, regulatory assessors and operational teams.
* Filter, prioritise, and re-route incoming requests, take decisions and take actions independently where appropriate, discuss and agree what action is required.

Who are we looking for?
Our successful candidate will:
* Have experience of communicating directly with stakeholders and of building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders
* Be educated to degree level in either a science-based, public health, or related discipline, or equivalent work-related experience.
* Be able to independently produce well-constructed scientific/technical summaries and to explain complex information to a range of audiences.
* Have good organisational skills. Capable of planning and managing multiple projects, working under pressure to deliver projects of a high standard and on time. Able to work with a high degree of autonomy, knowing when to seek advice.
* Have strong verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate in a clear and succinct manner
