Responsibilities
As a Senior Fire Engineer, you’ll manage multiple projects—ranging from a university in Scotland to a high-rise residential tower in London—ensuring innovative architectural design meets strict fire safety requirements. Your day‑to‑day duties include:
* Reviewing design information
* Liaising with other WSP disciplines such as Facades, Acoustics and Structures
* Presenting designs to local authorities and the Fire Service
* Advising the design team on safety improvements
* Participating in software training, fire standards updates, and client briefings
* Attending social events and fostering team cohesion
Professional Development
We support your registration with IFE and other professional organisations. The bespoke programme covers:
* Technical report writing
* Team‑specific technical skills
* Project management (introduction and advanced)
* Influential communications
* Commercial concepts
* Collaborative team challenge
* Continuous Improvement
Qualifications
You should have:
* A BSc (BEng) or MSc (MEng) in Fire, Structural, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent degree.
* Experience within the fire engineering consulting industry.
* Flexibility to work from any of our UK major offices.
