Your Impact
Our Engineering Improvements team is recruiting an enthusiastic Engineering Development Specialist to support the adoption of new releases and transformational initiatives. Reporting to the Head of Engineering Improvements, you will assist functional owners with communication, training, workshops, and material creation for new releases. Initially, the focus will be on implementing Design for Excellence (Dfx), including Manufacture, Assembly, Test, Sustainability, Supportability, and Reliability. Over time, your role will expand to support the integration of initiatives into Business as Usual (BAU).
This hybrid role requires regular travel to UK sites: Edinburgh, Newcastle, Luton, Lincoln, Southampton, and Bristol.
In your daily work, you will collaborate with programmes and projects within the Electronics UK Business Unit, liaise with Learning and Development, and support transformation initiatives.
Responsibilities include:
* Organising, planning, and facilitating training across all levels, initially focused on DfX, expanding to other content.
* Facilitating workshops tailored to team needs, initially on DfX, with future expansion.
* Developing tools and templates with content owners to promote understanding and adoption.
* Acting as an engineering change ambassador in transformation programmes, supporting or owning implementation plans in BAU.
* Providing expertise in Design for Excellence processes and tools, including Design for Manufacture, Assembly, Test, Supportability, and Reliability.
Qualifications and Skills:
* Experience in product development throughout the product lifecycle.
* Expertise in Design for Excellence processes and tools.
* Proven ability to facilitate and support teams through complex engineering challenges.
* Understanding of engineering processes and their interdependencies.
* Experience managing multiple projects and reporting progress.
* Subject matter expertise in FMEA.
* Knowledge of Change Management frameworks like Prosci (ADKAR) or 5Cs is advantageous.
* Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Business, or equivalent.
* Familiarity with multiple engineering disciplines and digital tooling (e.g., PLM systems).
* Six Sigma Green Belt or similar qualification.
