The Visually Impaired Sailing Association (Visa) breaks down barriers to wellbeing, social interaction, and self-confidence for visually impaired people through participation in coastal sailing as part of a team.
What difference will you make?
Visa have been encouraging and enabling sighted and visually impaired people to enjoy sailing since 2009. If you join us, together we can * Move to a more resilient and sustainable funding model* Offer more opportunities to sail and increasing our impact* Develop pathways for visually impaired people to take part in off-shore sailing with other clubs and organisations* Offer more volunteers the opportunity to develop new skills and the confidence to encourage and enable visually impaired people to participate in sports, recreation, education and employment. You will be supported by passionate and committed trustees and volunteers who assist us with safeguarding, communications, operations, and recruiting and managing volunteers.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for an experienced person who can advise and support us on developing a sustainable funding strategy and on delivering this to assist us to move away from bidding for grants for events and projects toward establishing partnerships and securing funding for core activity and longer term impact. This might be through charitable grants, or corporate or social partnerships. Experience of disability or sports sectors would be of value but is not essential.
What will you be doing?
