At Impington Village College we are proud to have a large and highly regarded SEND Faculty. We have students from ages 11-18 with a wide range of needs, some of which are very complex. We also have Enhanced Resource units for young people with EHCPs and more complex needs.

We require an experienced, dedicated and enthusiastic rugby coach as part of our Sports Scholarship team at Impington International College. This will involve working alongside our Lead Coach of Rugby and Director of Sports Scholarships in delivering engaging training sessions, supporting players’ wellbeing and development, and supporting the team in competitive fixtures. You will work alongside the sixth form team.

Alongside this you may take on some roles as a teaching assistant to support some of our most complex students on a 1:1, 2:1 or small group basis as well as general student support across the college.

The successful candidate must have a calm and empathetic approach and understand that all behaviour is communication. You must have the skills and experience to enable students to become independent and make progress both socially and academically, with a desire to transform the lives of young people by supporting them in education and, potentially, in integration into mainstream school.

Responsibilities

Rugby coaching and sports scholarship: deliver engaging training sessions, support wellbeing and development, assist with competitive fixtures, and collaborate with the Lead Coach of Rugby, Director of Sports Scholarships, and the sixth form team.

Teaching assistant duties: provide 1:1 or small group support for students with complex needs, contribute to general student support across the college, and support integration into mainstream settings where applicable.

Qualifications and attributes

Calm and empathetic approach; understanding that behaviour is communication; ability to enable students to gain independence and progress socially and academically; experience in rugby coaching and supporting students with diverse needs.
