Salary: £50,775 - £55,011 FTE

Pension contribution: 15% (£ FTE)

Location: Altrincham Campus with flexibility to work across Trafford & Stockport College Group sites.

About The Role

As Centre Manager, you will lead on behaviour and culture, safeguarding and wellbeing, ensuring a safe, inclusive and high‑performing culture across your campus. You will drive a culture of belonging alongside our commitments to relational practice.

You Will

  • Lead and develop a team of Pastoral Support Mentors and support staff, coaching them to deliver outstanding outcomes for learners.
  • Act as the campus Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), managing safeguarding cases and ensuring full compliance with statutory responsibilities including Prevent.
  • Drive a positive, relational approach to behaviour—promoting high expectations, accountability and respect across the college community.
  • Lead incident responses on campus supporting young people who may be dysregulated in a relational manner that allows them to feel safe, secure and a sense of belonging.
  • Oversee support for vulnerable learners, ensuring effective interventions are in place to remove barriers and enable success.
  • Work collaboratively with curriculum teams, parents/carers and external agencies to coordinate joined‑up, impactful support.
  • Lead on wellbeing and inclusion initiatives, shaping proactive support that improves attendance, engagement and progression.
  • Contribute to the digital offer by creating resources and content to educate and inform staff and young people.

This is a role where you will influence both day‑to‑day practice and wider strategy—embedding a culture where every learner belongs, believes and achieves.

About You

You are a values‑driven leader who is passionate about student wellbeing, safeguarding and inclusive practice. You understand the challenges young people face and are committed to supporting them to overcome barriers and succeed. You believe in a relational approach to allow students to activate higher level brain states to make informed choices about their future.

You Will Bring

  • Significant experience in safeguarding, behaviour or student support leadership.
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation, including KCSIE and Prevent, and experience working as a DSL.
  • A trauma‑informed, relational approach to working with young people.
  • The confidence to manage complex cases, lead difficult conversations and drive positive outcomes.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships across teams and with external partners.
  • A genuine commitment to inclusion, equality and supporting vulnerable learners.

Most importantly, you care deeply about young people and are motivated by the difference you can make to their lives.
