Our Major Reactor Island Equipment design function is responsible for the critical components in the Reactor Island, including the Reactor Pressure Vessel, Control Rod Drive Mechanisms, Reactor Head Arrangement, Pressuriser, Steam Generators, Accumulator Vessels, and Supports and Structures. Reporting to Heavy Vessels Manager - we seek a Senior Engineer (RPV) to join our Heavy Vessels team to develop a fully-integrated technical solution, and delivery programme, for the Reactor Pressure Vessel. This is a pivotal role and will be responsible for developing multiple programmes to ensure not only the success of our generic design, but also working with our customers, and global supply chain, to support and lead on site-specific product design activities. Thus the role will only grow as the project and business grows, and will include: Supporting progression of the RPV design through the various regulatory landscapes including Generic Design Assessment. Managing the programme and associated costs Delivering key programme deliverables and milestones Inspiring, leading, and developing your team You will be expected to travel on a regular basis between different sites, both within the UK and internationally, and to support engagement with key suppliers. If you can offer: experience with the product design, analysis, verification, manufacture and in-service support for an RPV; and demonstrable experience of leading concept design into detail design, verification and manufacturing readiness. then we really ought to talk!
