Job Description
We are looking for a professional and proactive Customer Service Representative to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for customer inquiries, ensuring a polite, prompt, and efficient response while maintaining clear and accurate records. You’ll play a key role in resolving customer queries, escalating where necessary, and supporting product improvement through user acceptance testing.
Key Responsibilities:
* Respond to customer queries via email, phone, and live chat in a timely and professional manner
* Record and manage queries in the company’s call management system, ensuring each is resolved or escalated appropriately
* Assist customers in achieving resolution to their requests or issues
* Participate in software user acceptance testing and provide valuable feedback
* Promote and comply with company policies, including Quality, Environmental, and Health & Safety
* Ensure your work aligns with the Company’s Code of Integrity & Professional Conduct
* Foster an inclusive environment, supporting SGS UK’s Equality & Diversity policy
Skills and Experience Required:
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Strong problem-solving abilities with a customer-focused approach
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Familiarity with customer service software/systems (advantageous)
* Experience in a customer-facing role preferred
* High attention to detail and organisational skills
Qualifications:
English Language and Mathematics GCSE Level or equivalent (grades A* to C)
Desirable qualifications include trade-related certifications (e.g., UK Customs Academy/BCC/BIFA) or recognized trade-related memberships (e.g., Institute of Export).
