About us An Cro Café is a vibrant social enterprise created by Coiste Forbartha Charn Tchair. Since November 2018, it has been a welcoming hub in Carntogher, where great food, friendly faces and local culture come together. The café promotes the Irish language and offers a fully bilingual service for fluent speakers, learners and those who are simply curious. It is open seven days a week for breakfast, lunch and coffee and continues to grow and evolve. Manager overview We are seeking a proactive and experienced person to manage the café and contribute to its overall success and growth, with a strong focus on exceptional customer service and hospitality experience. Key responsibilities Manage all aspects of daily operations, including staff supervision, stock management and cash handling Ensure excellent customer service at all times Schedule staff rotas, deliver training and manage performance Ensure compliance with all food hygiene, health and safety and licensing regulations Oversee day-to-day procedures, including end-of-day finance reporting Maintain high standards of cleanliness, food presentation and café appearance Support promotional and marketing activities to increase sales and customer engagement Personal specification Reliable, punctual and professional with a positive approach to work Demonstrated commitment to high standards of food and customer service Proven track record in successful team supervision Essential criteria Excellent customer service skills Good understanding of food safety, hygiene and health and safety practices Experience in cash handling, stock control and daily reporting Strong leadership, communication, organisational and interpersonal skills Flexibility to work weekends, early mornings and holidays as required in line with community initiatives Desirable criteria Fluent Irish or advanced learner Previous supervisory experience in a café or hospitality setting Food Hygiene Level 2 or higher First aid or health and safety training Barista training Knowledge of marketing, promotions or social media for hospitality Awareness of sustainability and environmental impact in hospitality Click apply below with CV and Cover Letter.
