We are seeking a strategic leader passionate about operational excellence in high-stakes environments. The Electronics Engineering Manager will share technical responsibilities with the Managing Director, serve as the main contact for a high-value client, and lead our cutting-edge facility in the defence and electronics manufacturing sector. This role offers growth into managing director or technical director positions in the future.
The client is flexible on salary or contract day rate to attract the best candidate.
About the Role
The Electronics Engineering Manager will oversee facility operations, including production, maintenance, quality control, and compliance. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will drive strategic initiatives, improve operational processes, and uphold high industry standards to deliver mission-critical products, support sustainable growth, and enhance the companys reputation.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead facility operations—production, maintenance, quality assurance
* Develop strategic plans aligned with company goals
* Manage defence contracts ensuring regulatory compliance
* Promote a culture of innovation, safety, and continuous improvement
* Collaborate with engineering teams from design through production
* Oversee budgeting, financial performance, and resource allocation
* Build relationships with stakeholders, suppliers, and regulators
* Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and operational standards
* Establish and monitor KPIs for performance, cost, and quality
What You’ll Bring
* 10+ years in electronics or defence manufacturing, with senior leadership experience
* Knowledge of defence customer contracts, regulations, and ISO9001:2015 standards
* Technical expertise in electronics engineering, quality control, and product development
* Strong leadership, mentoring, and team-inspiring skills
* Strategic and hands-on problem-solving ability
* Bachelor’s or Master’s in Engineering, Business, or related field (preferred)
