Department of Chemistry, Physical and Theoretical Chemistry, South Parks Road, Oxford, OX1 3QZ About the role Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Experimental Colloidal Dynamics to work under the supervision of Professor Alice Thorneywork for a period of up to 1 year. The project focuses on experimental investigation of structural and dynamic properties of colloidal monolayers driven out-of-equilibrium. The successful candidate will join an ambitious research program exploring the role of fluctuations in molecular transport processes by studying highly controlled experimental models at the meso- and nanoscale, funded by a UKRI Frontier Research Guarantee Grant. More information about the research and group can be found. About you Applicants must hold a PhD in Physical Chemistry, Physics or a relevant subject area, (or be close to completion) prior to taking up the appointment. The research requires experience in the development of colloidal model systems, microscopy techniques and image analysis, and a detailed understanding of self and collective transport in colloidal fluids. You will be expected to manage your own academic research and administrative activities. This involves small scale project management, to co-ordinate multiple aspects of work to meet deadlines. The post will be based in the Department of Chemistry, Physical & Theoretical Chemistry Laboratory, South Parks Road, Oxford and is available as soon as possible. Application Process
