Technology Lead
A Technology Lead oversees the technical aspects of the advanced programmes team. The role serves as both a technical expert and a leader, ensuring the successful design, implementation and delivery of technical solutions while guiding and mentoring the development team.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the technical design and architecture of systems and platforms.
* Collaborate with customers, management and stakeholders to define technical requirements and align solutions with the wider business, where appropriate.
* Review and guide the development of new features and innovations, ensuring they align with the overall system architecture and technical standards.
* Identify and implement best practices in secure computing principles, such as SBD standards, design patterns, and testing approaches.
* Make decisions on technical stack, tooling and product selection based on project requirements and long‑term sustainability.
* Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to team members, helping them grow technically and professionally.
* Foster a collaborative team culture, encouraging knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
* Provide constructive feedback and performance evaluations to team members.
Project Delivery & Stakeholder Collaboration
* Ensure that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and with high quality.
* Manage risks and proactively address challenges that may impact the project deliverables.
* Communicate technical concepts clearly to non‑technical stakeholders, customers and SLT, where required.
* Stay up to date with the latest industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to continuously improve technical solutions.
* Evaluate and recommend new tools and technologies that can benefit the team's productivity and the product’s functionality.
System Reliability & Performance
* Ensure that systems are robust, reliable, and performant by implementing monitoring and thorough testing practices.
* Ensure proper design principles by including and implementing disaster recovery plans and system backups.
Key Skills and Qualifications
Technical Skills
* Proficiency with Industry standard software and hardware.
* VMware, Microsoft Server Products, ASH, Elastic, backup technologies, PKI, encryption technologies, Linux, switching, routing and firewalling across multiple product stacks (Cisco, Juniper, Mellanox).
Familiarity with
* Docker & Kubernetes, CI/CD Pipelines, Horizon, HPC, Horizon VDI (Omnissa), Browsedown/Browseacross products, DevOps tooling and techniques.
Leadership & Communication
* Proven experience leading a technical team or serving as a technical mentor.
* Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to make informed decisions under pressure.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
* Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
