Job Summary
Canary Wharf Group has embarked on implementing a Technology data platform as a foundational platform, with some key financial use cases to enable the business users to manage the health of their operations. The role has been created to be accountable for leading and executing our data strategy, building capabilities and adhering to sound technology architecture principles. The role will be pivotal in driving our data initiatives, from data lake management to advanced analytics, AI, ML and GenAI solutions, ensuring seamless data ingestion and insightful end user visualisation. The role requires the development of information standards, delivery of innovative and highly insightful analytics to enable effective business performance (Operational and Strategic) and market property sector understanding to support decision-making and business direction. Needs to be passionate about data and drive a data culture in the business.
Salary range from £110,000 - £120,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Main Responsibilities
* Advance the data, analytics, and AI strategy in alignment with business goals
* Identify opportunities to use data for improved decision-making and business value
* Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies
* Establish standards for managing and retrieving key commercial documents
* Define responsible AI usage guidelines
* Prioritise and oversee AI/data use cases based on strategic impact and resource availability
* Ensure delivery of actionable, intuitive insights across platforms
* Maintain a clear roadmap and budget for ongoing use case development
* Lead data governance, quality, and management initiatives
* Embed enterprise-wide data ownership and governance structures
* Oversee scalable, secure data lake implementation
* Promote a data-driven culture through training and enablement
* Define roles between tech and business teams for seamless collaboration
* Build efficient, repeatable delivery processes with internal and external partners
* Manage vendor performance against SLAs
* Define scalable, secure architecture for data, analytics, and AI
* Integrate data ingestion, ETL, and pipelines for efficient processing
* Enable external data integration (e.g. sensor data) for enhanced insights
* Ensure architecture is agile and future-ready
* Deliver advanced analytics and intuitive dashboards tailored to business needs
* Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure insights are relevant and actionable
* Champion external innovation and influence senior stakeholders
* Lead and mentor cross-functional data teams
* Collaborate across IT, InfoSec, product, and business units
* Ensure compliance with data protection regulations
* Drive performance through structured goal setting and feedback
* Define KPIs to measure success of data initiatives
* Provide regular strategic updates to senior leadership
PERSON SPECIFICATION
* Exceptional written and verbal communication, able to convey complex ideas clearly to diverse audiences
* Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills
* Experienced IT leader with a strong background in shaping and delivering enterprise data and analytics strategies
* Passionate about data, with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset
* Proven ability to streamline and enhance complex processes, with strong planning, organisational, and problem-solving capabilities
* Deep understanding of enterprise decision-making and cross-functional business processes
* Skilled in identifying and driving process improvements across varied business areas
* Experienced in managing external partners, including service providers, contractors, and software vendors
* Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into business impact
* Confident presenter with creative thinking abilities
* Demonstrated experience in data strategy development and implementation
* Extensive background in data platforms, program/project management, and leading data teams and strategic partners
* Strategic leadership in data-driven decision-making
* Solid understanding of enterprise Data Warehousing, Big Data, BI, and Advanced Analytics
* Familiarity with real estate data sources, applications, and vendor ecosystems (preferred)
* Proficient in data modeling and reporting tools: Google Cloud, AWS, Azure, Databricks, Snowflake, Power BI, Tableau, Microsoft Copilot, OpenAI
* Knowledge of Gen AI and agentic AI platforms, with experience deploying them to optimise business operations
