Founded in 1983, Metro Rod and its sister company Metro Plumb are leading drain clearance and maintenance service providers, operating largely on a reactive basis. Our services are delivered by over 60 franchisees across the UK. With over thirty years of experience, we pride ourselves on quality service and customer satisfaction. Major companies and high street brands trust us for their drain maintenance needs, and we aim to uphold these high standards for your drain issues.
Within the Waste & Water Services Division of Franchise Brands, there are also Willow Pumps and Filta, which focus on sewage pumps and commercial kitchen solutions. Together, these brands offer a comprehensive service for water and waste management.
What does it entail?
This supervisory role involves overseeing the engineering team and daily operations of the drainage business. You will be the primary contact for escalations, customer queries, and managing the Engineers and depot operations. The role requires proven office management experience, capable of organizing and managing a busy office environment.
This is a reactive, fast-paced environment demanding flexible communication skills to liaise effectively with Engineers, internal stakeholders, and external customers. Key responsibilities include:
* Managing daily office operations
* Supporting team members
* Communicating with Engineers
* Developing project plans and timelines in collaboration with cross-functional teams
* Monitoring project progress and ensuring deadlines are met
* Planning and scheduling work
* Processing quotations
* Assisting the Director with vehicle repairs and maintenance
What are we looking for?
* Previous office management experience
* Experience in a technical/blue-collar environment or similar
* Understanding of basic Health and Safety principles
* Willingness to complete SSSTS and possibly SMSTS courses
* Ability to write detailed reports and documentation
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Confident, positive character capable of motivating a team
* Ability to build lasting relationships within the franchise and wider business
* Some on-call work, managing the phone during weekdays (5-7 pm) and weekends
