Job Role: Engineering Planning & Stores Coordinator

Job Type: Permanent
Location: Goole area – easy access site
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 38‑hour week; flexible start/finish; hybrid working 1‑2 days.
Salary: £32‑36k + 5% bonus and competitive package. 5% company‑matched pension scheme.
Overview
You are the glue between maintenance teams, procurement and operations, ensuring engineers have the necessary components and support at the right time, safely and cost‑effectively.
Role & Responsibilities
* Lead and develop engineering spares and contractor controls to reduce stock holdings and contractor costs.
* Maintain consumable spares at correct levels to minimise downtime.
* Monitor and provide reports covering engineering parts, labour and contractor spend.
* Support engineering teams to exceed KPIs for schedule compliance, work volume and inventory levels, and drive proactive prevention of equipment failure.
* Identify, catalogue and ensure availability of appropriate engineering spares and inventory for asset reliability.
* Maintain a safe, organised, cost‑effective and proactive stores and maintenance facility.
* Achieve site KPIs: stock value, accuracy, stock turns and consignment stock.
* Develop engineering stores capabilities and processes.
* Implement robust stock management controls and continuous improvement opportunities.
* Source alternative components, engineered parts and suppliers meeting technical standards.
* Manage end‑to‑end return of defective/non‑conforming parts.
* Update and maintain a computerized stocking system for all material movements.
* Organise parts for specific maintenance tasks.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Experience in engineering or warehousing/supply‑chain/stores management environment.
* Experience in data input systems.
* Good literacy and numeracy.
* Electrical and/or mechanical engineering experience desirable.
* Experience operating in a medium/large automated manufacturing operation.
* Experience with computerised maintenance management systems (CMMS).
* Experience with spares/stock management systems.
* Ability to identify key engineering equipment an advantage.
* Computer literate – Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.
