Overview
Spectrum Children's Services (part of the Rehability UK Group) are looking for a committed Senior Youth Independence Mentor / Senior Youth Support Worker to join our Supported Accommodation team. You\'ll not only support young people aged 16-18 to gain independence skills but also take on leadership responsibilities-mentoring colleagues, leading shifts, and ensuring high standards of care and compliance.
Responsibilities
* Support young people aged 16-18 to gain independence skills.
* Take on leadership responsibilities: mentoring colleagues, leading shifts, and ensuring high standards of care and compliance.
* Communicate effectively with young people, colleagues, and supervisors; promote safeguarding and welfare.
* Be flexible to work evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins.
Qualifications
* Experience supporting children or young people (residential, supported accommodation, or social care).
* Strong understanding of safeguarding and challenges faced by vulnerable young people.
* Ability to role-model and teach independence skills.
* Strong IT and recording skills (Clear Care or similar systems).
* Effective communication, empathy, and leadership ability.
* Desirable: NVQ/QCF Level 3, experience leading shifts/supervising staff, safeguarding or mentoring training, full UK driving licence.
