Senior Planner Rickmansworth What you will be doing: An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Planner to join the team at Southern Water, a Galliford Try business. We are looking for candidates who are experienced in successfully delivering schemes of varying sizes, predominately to the Water Industry, for Waste and Clean Water Treatment schemes. What you will be doing: Provide construction planning and programming input for projects at prequalification, tender and contract stage by developing an accurate assessment of sequence, methodology and time. Input to value-engineering and looking for alternative methods and sequencing to provide added value and enhance margins. Liaise with Suppliers with regards to lead times of materials. Reproduction of best timeline going forward in the design, procurement, construction and commissioning period and develop efficient and logical build sequences and resource assessments. Liaising with bid managers, estimators, designers, temporary works department and specialist subcontractors, to optimise the programme. During the tender process highlight programme risk areas within the scope. Identifying planning scope, major constraints and contract requirements. Producing the Tender Programme and supporting information in accordance with the tender requirements. Attending ITT meetings and pre tender meeting to discuss the programme requirements and develop within timescales agreed Prepare project schedule on MSP and/or primavera P6 with WBS, activities and Milestone. Produce schedule showing key constraints, key resource levels, time risk allowances and is of optimistic and realistic overall duration. Run MSP & Primavera Project Planner reports and analysis. Update schedules when required. Ability to conduct Earned Value Management (EVM) analysis of programs to ensure cost, schedule and scope metrics are in compliance with the contract. Ability to support Milestone/Schedule Tracking, review, monitor, and analyse program status to ensure technical progress towards project milestones are achieved as planned. Run filters on primavera planner for reports required by management. Prepare logic diagrams, bar charts and histograms. Analyse and mitigate schedule for impacts. Prepare critical path method (CPM). Perform cost to complete projections and earned value. Support team in the development of project change notices. Create project plans by identifying tasks to be performed, necessary requirements, deliverables and milestones. Demonstrating skill in defining project scopes and details and devising and recommending alternative methods of analysis as a basis for solving problems. About you: Develop full-scale project plans and associated communications documents. Effectively communicate project expectations to team members in a timely and clear fashion. Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis. Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals. Set and continually manage project expectations with team members. Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel. Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path. Track project milestones and deliverables. Deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.
