Role Overview
An exciting opportunity for an aspiring Deputy Ward Manager has arisen on Ward B2 at Diana Princess of Wales Hospital. The post holder will provide nursing support within the 27‑bed mixed‑sex ward to acute patients with a variety of conditions relating to gastroenterology.
The role provides a real opportunity to develop your clinical knowledge, leadership and management skills, while being supported by a senior and experienced team. The Trust has close links with the University of Lincoln and will facilitate your continuing professional development.
We are looking for an experienced registered nurse who is dynamic, has strong interpersonal skills and enthusiasm for caring for gastroenterology patients. The senior team is passionate about constantly improving our service and delivering high‑quality care to patients.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead clinical nursing practice within the clinical area.
* Secure and assure the highest standards of clinical care with the support of the Matron and Deputy Nurse Director.
* Effectively manage clinical and non‑clinical risk and report to the Ward Manager.
* Provide clinical, professional and managerial leadership for the ward‑based team of registered and non‑registered staff.
* Deputise in the absence of the Ward Manager and ensure a positive patient experience through the delivery of high standards of patient care.
* Deal with queries and complaints from staff, patients and their family members.
