Position Summary
Responsible for maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting for the plant, equipment and the related areas of the block plant
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Abide by Company Safety Program and Policies, while performing duties safely.
Independently determines the need and performs basic repair, service and related work on mechanical, plumbing, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic production equipment.
Ensures safe and efficient operation of the plant through maintenance, inspection and repair of the equipment in the block plant .
Performs scheduled and unscheduled preventive maintenance and adjustments of selected equipment and fixtures, as well as operational testing and verification to specific standards.
Operates a forklift according to requirements of the current need.
Perform multiple tasks while maintaining a high degree of attention to details.
Uses various hand tools and test equipment periodically to analyze, evaluate and correct malfunctions with various systems, devices and/or instruments.
Complete daily maintenance and repair logs.
Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications/Experience and Education
1. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
2. Must be mechanically inclined and able to troubleshoot machinery and equipment.
3. Prefer previous experience operating construction machinery or equipment--forklift, pallet loaders, and lift truck.
4. Some experience of the concrete production business is helpful.
5. Forklift, and Respirator certifications preferred.
6. If not, must be capable to completing requirements of the program and passing the test in a reasonable period of time.
7. Valid NE driver’s license.
8. Must be able to pass respiratory function test for working in confined areas.
