Job Description
The Opportunity
Turner & Townsend's Natural Resources business has grown 35% in the last 9 months and is set to triple in size over the next 3 years. We are looking for a Risk Manager to join our expanding Natural Resources and New Energies team, working on several high-profile Projects/Programmes. This role offers opportunities to innovate, collaborate, and learn from our experienced Risk Management community and wider Controls and Performance Network.
Key Responsibilities
1. Plan, design, and implement risk management processes tailored to client needs, aligned with best practices.
2. Facilitate risk workshops with subject matter experts.
3. Create and maintain risk registers and other risk documentation.
4. Enhance the quality of risk data through critical analysis.
5. Drive mitigation actions across projects and programmes.
6. Assist in developing measurable and specific management responses.
7. Conduct Quantitative Risk Assessment (QRA) for cost and schedule impacts.
8. Produce timely risk reports using tools like PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Power BI.
9. Align project information with Project Controls disciplines.
10. Collaborate with the supply chain to understand associated risks.
11. Communicate complex risk information effectively to stakeholders.
12. Adjust risk strategies and processes as needed.
13. Proactively solve problems and think strategically about risk scenarios.
14. Manage stakeholder relationships and expectations.
15. Stay informed about industry risks and best practices.
16. Embrace challenges and opportunities for positive change.
17. Possess a UK driving license or ability to travel to client sites.
18. Have experience managing risk in multiple projects or relevant environments.
19. Be familiar with risk standards (ISO31000, APM, Orange Book, IPA) and tools.
20. Understand Quantitative Risk Assessment techniques like Monte Carlo.
21. Knowledge of how Project Controls aspects interact with Risk Management is desirable.
22. Possession of a risk qualification (e.g., APM Risk Certificate Level 2 or MoR) is advantageous.
23. Familiarity with NEC contracts is beneficial.
