Your new roleAs the Purchasing Assistant, you will ensure that all materials required for production are available when needed, supporting uninterrupted operations and on‑time delivery. You will monitor stock levels, maintain accurate ERP and planning data, and proactively adjust supply plans to prevent shortages. Day‑to‑day, you will:
1. Monitor material availability and adjust supply plans to meet operational demand.
2. Maintain accurate data across ERP and MRP systems.
3. Liaise with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries and resolve any delivery or inventory discrepancies.
4. Keep material requirements and stock levels up to date for all stocked SKUs.
5. Raise purchase orders in line with stock strategy targets.
6. Check order acknowledgements and escalate supply risks with proposed solutions.
7. Work closely with Group Procurement, Logistics and external suppliers to maintain efficient, cost‑effective operations.
Success in this role will be measured by maintaining stock levels in line with business strategy and minimising material shortages.
What you’ll need to succeed
8. Experience in supply planning, purchasing or a similar supply chain function.
9. Strong understanding of supply chain processes.
10. Excellentmunication, organisational and time‑management skills.
11. High attention to detail and strong numeracy.
12. Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively across teams.
13. Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office applications.
14. Analytical capability and an understanding of supply metrics.
