Due to an increase in workload Structural Soils, part of the RSK Group, have exciting opportunities for an experienced and ambitious Principal Geotechnical Engineer to join our expanding team in Bristol, UK. This is a full time, permanent opportunity and you will be joining a knowledgeable and talented team within one of the UKs leading ground investigation companies. Core Responsibilities: Project management & coordination Client management & engagement Leading the design, procurement, supervision and management of geotechnical ground investigations. Managing Phase 2 Ground Investigations An astute eye for detail – ensuring best practise is followed whilst ensuring an efficient and economical workflow for our clients. Producing detailed factual and interpretive geotechnical ground investigation reports meeting the company’s high standards. Excellent communication is required to liaise with other project staff and clients to best deliver our projects. Peer review of exploratory hole logs to ensure that soil and rock logging is correct and complies with current geotechnical standards Peer review of factual and interpretive reports and other data. Person Specification: 15 yrs Industry experience within the UK Ground Investigation Sector. BEng or BSc Degree (or MEng/MSci) level qualified in Geology, Earth Science, Geography, Civil Engineering, Environmental Geoscience or a related subject is essential. MSc or MEng in a Geotechnical Subject preferred for candidates with BEng or BSc qualifications but not essential. Chartership with an industry recognised organisation. A desire to become a key member of the local and national team through demonstrating excellence in their work. Full Clean UK Manual driving licence essential. Adaptability and flexibility – within Structural Soils we pride ourselves in being able to respond to clients of all sizes: From subsistence related issues within residential settings – to large scale ground characterisation and modelling exercises within the Nuclear Sector. No prior experience of any specific geotechnical software package is required however a willingness and ability to learn and make use of software where appropriate is necessary.
