Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and highly capable Senior Tooling Technician to lead the preparation, maintenance, testing and continuous improvement of subsea mechanical and ROV tooling equipment.
The Senior Tooling Technician will take ownership of workshop standards, mentor junior technicians and ensure all tooling is maintained to the highest operational, safety and quality standards. This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership capability and the ability to support both onshore and offshore operations.
Based in Aberdeen, the position will involve regional travel and offshore support as required.
Principal Accountabilities:
* Lead inspection, testing, repair and preparation of ROV and subsea tooling equipment
* Oversee commissioning of new tooling systems and ensure correct integration into fleet
* Provide advanced fault-finding and technical diagnostics on hydraulic and mechanical systems
* Supervise servicing and refurbishment of equipment returning from hire
* Ensure hire equipment is correctly labelled, certified and asset-tracked
* Approve service reports, inspection documentation and maintenance records
* Support mobilisations, SIT (Site Integration Testing) and offshore deployments
* Provide senior-level technical support to clients and internal stakeholders
* Mentor and support junior technicians, promoting technical best practice
* Maintain and improve stock control systems for spares and consumables
* Ensure equipment is packaged and prepared in line with transport and export requirements
* Support continuous improvement initiatives within the workshop
* Provide on-call and offshore support when required
* Attend offshore training and maintain valid offshore medical certification
