Torquay Health and Well-Being Team are recruiting for a Band 3 Healthcare Support Worker to join our large but supportive team who enjoys mentoring team members and students, and is passionate about delivering quality care to the housebound patients.
We work in an integrated way with allied health care professionals within the locality therefore, as a Healthcare Support Worker within an integrated team, you will work alongside and across the community teams which includes: Community Nursing, Intermediate Care and Community Matrons.
We are a motivated and caring team that are passionate about delivering high quality care to the housebound patients of Torquay and work as part of multi-disciplinary team and in partnership with primary care and secondary care.
* Working as a team to assist and perform clinical responsibilities as delegated by our qualified nursing staff, including though not limited to:
o Observing, monitoring and recording patients' conditions by taking temperatures, pulse, respirations and weight.
o As well as providing personalised care such as infection prevention and control, food, personal hygiene and overall reassurance, comfort and safety.
o Where appropriate, you may be asked to conduct ECG Recordings, monitoring blood sugar, provide Stoma and Catheter care, Venepuncture, and Cannulation.
o Administrative duties such as answer the telephone, take messages and refer to the Staff Nurse for instructions, to take part as requested in ward/unit meetings, encouraging effective communications between other staff.
