Job Summary
CNWL is looking for an exceptional Communications Officer to join its busy team. The successful postholder will work closely with the Communications Manager for Media and Campaigns, delivering successful communications activities and supporting the team's wider portfolio of internal and external communications. This includes producing communications plans for clinical services, developing creative campaigns and promotional material to support the reputation management of the organisation.
Main Duties
* Produce communications plans for clinical services
* Develop creative campaigns and promotional material
* Write press releases, manage campaigns and media relations
* Create patient information and other materials in plain English and key community languages
* Support the corporate communications strategy and service line plans
* Champion consistent use of the Trust logo and brand integrity
* Organise and support events across different sites (e.g., official openings, ministerial visits)
* Produce and lead the weekly staff bulletin
* Write and update content for the Trust public website and intranet
* Manage communication issues related to national and local initiatives and health promotion events
* Assist the Press Office in liaising with media and responding to enquiries
Qualifications & Experience
* Educated to degree level or equivalent in communications or a related field
* Minimum of one year’s experience in a press, communications or marketing office
* Experience writing press releases and managing media enquiries
* Experience writing for newsletters, websites, intranet and other media formats
* Print production experience
* Experience working within the NHS is desirable
* Experience with patient and public involvement roles is desirable
Essential Skills and Knowledge
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Strong copywriting skills and keen eye for detail
* Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
* Proficiency in office package and word processing
* Knowledge or interest in website content management and development
* Professional interaction with stakeholders at all levels
Desirable Knowledge
* Extensive knowledge of the NHS
* Knowledge of the news agenda and media landscape
