Senior Tree Officers (2 Roles)
Location: One role based at Cannock, one role based at Stafford.
Grade I: £41,771 - £46,142 per annum (pay award pending)
Role Numbers: DP372 and DP375.
Employment: Permanent – 37 hours per week.

Job Overview
With over 1300 TPOs, 45 Conservation Areas and 80,000 trees covering an area of 261 square miles, we have a unique opportunity for tree professionals in a number of roles. Successful candidates will be able to stamp their own mark on this new shared service between Cannock Chase District and Stafford Borough Councils. The area combines rural and urban environments with nature conservation, SSSIs and Local Nature Reserves all set against the Cannock Chase National Landscape, offering challenging work in a beautiful setting.
Responsibilities
• Day‑to‑day management of community trees and contractors, including understanding and applying TPO and Conservation Area management principles. • Tree inspection and production of work specifications, preferably using ICT systems such as Ezytreev or Arbotrack. • Maintaining clear and effective communication—written, verbal, and in person—with a wide range of stakeholders.
Qualifications
• Minimum Level 4 Arboricultural qualification (preferably at Diploma or Extended Diploma level). An ABC Level 4 Certificate in Arboriculture is acceptable with a commitment to progress to the Diploma. • Experienced in tree inspection and specification, with a good understanding of TPOs and Conservation Area management. • Good command of ICT tools used in tree management.
Additional Information
These roles will be subject to a Basic DBS Disclosure. Possession of a valid full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes is an essential requirement.
