Shape the future of Shropshire! We’re seeking a visionary leader to join our Strategic Leadership Board as Service Director Place Shaping. This is your opportunity to drive regeneration, economic development, planning, housing delivery, and asset management for one of England’s most ambitious councils.
What you’ll do:
* Strategically lead services including economic development, planning, climate change, housing delivery, and asset management.
* Oversee major placemaking programs, regeneration strategies, and asset management.
* Secure external funding (Towns Fund, Levelling Up Fund, Shared Prosperity Fund) for regeneration.
* Build partnerships with developers, government agencies, and community stakeholders.
* Champion inclusive regeneration that respects Shropshire’s rural character while tackling connectivity, housing affordability, and employment diversification.
* Promote inward investment, business growth, and employment initiatives.
* Ensure robust governance, risk management, and compliance with statutory requirements
What we’re looking for:
* Degree or equivalent in regeneration, planning, rural development, or related discipline.
* Strategic Senior leadership experience in economic growth, property and assets, planning, and housing.
* Proven track record in transformational change and delivering high-quality, cost-effective services.
* Strong financial and commercial acumen.
* Ability to build effective partnerships and influence at all levels.
