Rubicon Consulting is currently recruiting for a Supplier Quality Engineer on a 6-month rolling contract based in Lincoln.
Role Summary
Managing supplier non-conformance, containment and resolution. Engaging with on-site teams (Quality, Laboratory, Engineering, Project Management, Operations) to ensure on‑time deliveries to the build line.
The individual needs to be self‑motivated, have problem‑solving skills and be able to communicate effectively across all management levels.
Critical part meeting
Minimum on‑site requirement is 3 days per week. Additional on‑site days may be required to meet delivery expectations or cover holiday/absence. The ability to work from home will depend on the individual’s ability to demonstrate autonomous, efficient and reliable work. Expect a new starter on site full‑time for the first 4–6 weeks, entirely dependent on the candidate’s motivation and ability to learn new skills and knowledge.
The role supports a production environment and establishing a strong network with key stakeholders is essential. The role is ideal for someone who can work off their own initiative, is a self‑starter and problem solver.
Communication skills and dealing with ambiguity are key. Knowing the products and suppliers is important. The customer is an internal manufacturing company.
Requirements
* Understanding and application of ISO 9001:2015
* Manufacturing experience
* Quality experience similar to what the team is doing – making gas turbines; aerospace has a lot of commonality
* Someone with a permanent mentality – long term role
* Not looking for inspectors or engineers
Desirable
* Someone who can come in 3 days a week minimum
* Looking for operational, quality engineering – not inspectors
* Someone who can get stuck in and hit the ground running
* High volume
* Transactional tasks
* Good level of resilience
* Attention to detail
* Evidence to be able to do the above
* Able to demonstrate constraints – root cause and improvement
* Able to manage trackers
* SAP knowledge can be taught – be methodical
