What You’ll Be Doing
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the successful Shift Electrician will be a key member of the Cement plant shift team. You will monitor the automated performance of the pre‑heater, kiln feeder, rotary kiln burner, calciner, exhaust gases, emissions and cooler processes by using the on‑site FLS and TDM systems. On a day‑to‑day basis, your key responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
* Ensuring compliance with all relevant statutory legislation and company Safety, Health and Environmental standards
* Carrying out designated plant safety and maintenance inspections and developing safe systems of work such as method statements, risk assessments and dynamic point of work risk assessment
* Carrying out electrical fault finding, maintenance and repair work to support the team and deliver team performance targets
* Recording maintenance activities and work requests through SAP/CMMS planned maintenance system
* Assisting in the commissioning of new plant and equipment
What We’re Looking For
Ideally, you will:
* Hold an HNC/D Electrical or equivalent
* Have a positive and proactive approach to Health & Safety and Environment with a willingness to challenge unsafe acts
* Have strong technical knowledge of electrical equipment combined with heavy industrial plant experience
Please note that plant operations run on a 24/7, 365 basis and this role will require flexibility to ensure the plant runs effectively. This will, at times, involve night working, weekend and bank holidays.
