ROLE HEADLINES
Job type: Full time, minimum 37.5, typically 40 hours per week
Start date: Ideally 1st July 2025, but can be flexible (to an extent)
Location: Our office is located in King Street, Manchester, but remote and flexible working are supported
Salary range: £35-45k plus access to company share scheme after 1 year's service
Annual leave: 25 days p.a. plus statutory Bank Holidays, birthday and one Friday afternoon per month

* Develops its own data and software packages that support this transition using its own a dedicated software development team
* Provides consultancy advice and support to both the public sector (at all geographic levels) and the private sector, aligned to its mission
* Actively innovates and collaborates with like-minded and driven organisations to support and add value across all its activities, with a particular focus on facilitation and delivery of measurable carbon reduction activity in the built environment
* Relentlessly focuses on understanding the needs of, and adding value to our customers, whether individual householders or multinational blue-chip companies

DUTIES AND DETAILS
Design leadership and ownership across Thermly’s digital platforms
* Leading on the design development of all of Thermly’s digital products and services
* Ownership of Thermly’s style guide, design principles and design strategy
* Training of marketing and development team members around implementing Thermly’s design strategy
Screen design and UI/UX creation
* Wireframing and screen design for Thermly’s marketing website and digital platform
* Responsive design implementation, ensuring consistent high-quality experiences across all user devices
* Collaborate with developers to ensure successful implementation of designs within the web application
Marketing website ownership
* Take on ownership of the existing marketing website within Webflow
* Handle maintenance and change requests
* Design and build new pages
Graphical asset creation
* Creation of graphical assets for use across digital and physical / traditional marketing
* Implementation of existing illustration library
* Creation of social media posts
* Creation of design work for flyers, posters, promotional stands, etc.
Other responsibilities
* Maintaining active and positive communication with stakeholders, third parties, contractors and others as required
* Anything else that we need you to do – we are a small team and everyone contributes across the business when required to do so
CANDIDATE CHARACTERISTICS
We are a small, diverse and growing team and you’ll need to fit very quickly into it – and to do that you must share our values as a business. You also need to:
* Be confident and willing/able to collaborate across different teams and skill sets
* Have great attention to detail – standards of written and presentational outputs must be nothing less than exemplary
* Be able to demonstrate the ability to plan, manage and handle multiple projects, activities and outputs simultaneously - showing a clear understanding of, and responsibility towards, the commercial needs of the company
* Genuine calmness under pressure
* Confidence in terms of an ability to engage with, and constructively advise, the directors and other senior management in all aspects of design
* Be passionate – and optimistic - about finding solutions to dealing with climate change. Your glass must be half full.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
If we invite you to interview, we will ask to see examples of previous projects within your portfolio, either delivered in-post, as part of a qualification, or delivered during your own time. We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate:
* At least 3 years of graphic design experience in a commercial role (and ideally experience within a start up environment)
* Very strong digital UI/UX capabilities and understanding
* Strong experience in software/design packages including Figma (preferred), InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop etc
* Experience in website building tools such as Webflow (preferred), Squarespace, Wordpress
