Responsibilities
1. Lead and supervise a team of welders and platers to meet quality and safety standards
2. Provide on-site technical advice and propose practical solutions where required
3. Review and approve technical and safety documentation
4. Ensure installations meet project designs, processes, and deadlines
5. Manage resource allocation to meet budget and time constraints
6. Supervise contractors and maintain a high-performing, safety-first culture
7. Ensure compliance with NNB permit-to-work processes
8. Attend site coordination meetings as required
9. Act as Incident Controller (IC) and Trauma & Medical Immediate Care (TMIC) responder when trained
Skills & Experience
10. HPC site experience (desirable)
11. Familiarity with data input systems (permits, progress tracking)
12. Strong leadership and team supervision skills
13. Safety- and quality-focused, leading by example
14. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
15. In-depth technical knowledge of welding and plating
16. Problem-solving and decision-making ability
Essential Qualifications
17. One of the following:
Level 3 Pipe Welder Apprenticeship Standard (ST)
Equivalent apprenticeship in welding discipline
Diploma in Welding Engineering Construction Pipework, Plate, or Both - SCQF L7
18. BS EN ISO Coded Welding Qualification
19. One of the following: LATS, SSSTS, IOSH Managing Safely
