We are commercial property specialists operating across the UK. At Bruntwood, we’re committed to offering more than just outstanding office, coworking, retail and lab spaces. Everything we do is tied into our vision of building vibrant communities, whilst providing businesses with the support and expertise they need to grow.

Some examples of our varied portfolio include: Bloc, Alderley Park, Circle Square and Pall Mall.

We’re based in the heart of Manchester City Centre, Union overlooking Albert Square. We’re a team of 20 that cover all People & Talent activity across the Bruntwood Group including subsidiaries that overall account for around 1,200 colleagues.

We’re a close team that focuses on driving our values and supporting each other to deliver effective practices and an agile way of working that adapts well to change/growth.

Job Purpose

Your role, as People Advisor, is to be a champion of our culture and values, ensuring we create a high‑performance environment where everyone can contribute their best work, develop to their full potential, and deliver on our business goals. The role is broad, fast‑paced and hands‑on. Whether you’re advising managers to lead their teams in the right way, supporting colleagues or navigating and resolving employee relations issues, you’ll be an analytical and curious thinker, keeping your ear to the ground and delivering a brilliant service that shapes our colleague experience and enhances business outcomes.

What you’ll be doing

* You’ll support the colleague life cycle and key people practices from onboarding to off‑boarding to ensure the delivery of a seamless people experience.
* You’ll provide high quality data and reporting, translating people metrics into actionable business insights for the wider team and stakeholders.
* As our people expert you’ll manage ER cases, advising managers on policy and process, with a natural coaching style that balances empathy and fair treatment with legal compliance, policy, and commercial risk.
* You will support the People Partners on TUPE, Organisational Change and Transformation activity.
* As a generalist, you’ll be comfortable to turn your hand to support our wider services including Recruitment, Payroll, Engagement, Wellbeing and Learning & Development.
* You’ll support the People Partners in implementing people plans – particularly around driving actions from the colleague engagement survey that really make a difference to life at Bruntwood.
* You’ll help to develop and deliver workshops that will inform, inspire and upskill our people managers, building their confidence to handle people matters independently.
* You’ll constantly review our policies and procedures, keeping them fit for purpose and ahead of changing employment law, while ensuring they remain practical, accessible, and aligned with our culture.
* You’ll work with the wider People & Talent Team to deliver products that encourage our people to take ownership of their own performance, careers and learning, by providing them with a range of different options, resources and experiences.

What we’re looking for

* Experience of working at People Advisor level.
* Experience of managing varied workloads, reacting to case work and queries efficiently as well as proactively engaging in project work.
* Experience creating and delivering training workshops.
* An analytical mindset – the ability to spot trends and gather and report data to improve business processes.
* Ability to coach, consult and challenge in a constructive manner.
* Ambition to progress and develop in a role where you’ll be recognised for your input and value added.
* Team focused, collaborating with the wider People & Talent team to improve overall company processes and colleague experience.
* A pragmatic, solution‑focused, non‑bureaucratic approach to HR.
* Evidence of hands‑on experience in employee relations and employment law, with a track record of minimising business risk.

Benefits

* 28 days holiday plus your birthday off work – you can also buy and sell holiday days.
* Company bonus paid annually.
* 24 hours a year volunteer time.
* Sabbatical of up to 12 months after five years’ service.
* Healthcare cash plan and optional free private healthcare cover.
* Life assurance cover.
* Up to 8% matched pension scheme.
* Discounts and cashback at leading retailers.
* Enhanced maternity/shared parental leave – 26 weeks fully paid.
* Interest‑free loans and learning‑advancement support.
