The role
Brinsworth Academy is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Technician to join our growing Art and Design Technology Department.
In this practical, hands-on role, you will help ensure the smooth and safe running of our workshops. You will be responsible for preparing materials and equipment for lessons, maintaining and servicing tools to ensure safety and reliability, and helping to create a safe, inspiring environment in which young people can thrive.
Our faculty is home to a spacious artists’ studio and several large teaching rooms that cater for a wide range of creative practices, including painting, drawing, printmaking, ceramics, 3D sculpture, textiles and graphic work. We also have excellent IT facilities for digital photography and a large photographic darkroom.
We are looking for someone who has previous experience of working with secondary school pupils, along with strong organisational, communication and ICT skills. Attention to detail, a flexible and proactive approach, and a genuine enthusiasm for creative education and working with young people are also essential for success in this role.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a vibrant and creative faculty, supporting staff and students in delivering engaging, high-quality education.
