The Purchasing Manager will lead the end-to-end procurement process, ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials and components vital for production. Role responsibilities of the Purchasing Manager include:
1. Managing supplier relationships through regular performance reviews, audits, and site visits
2. Overseeing inventory held by third-party suppliers
3. Conducting spend analysis and proactively collaborating with supply chain partners
4. Leading and managing the procurement team on a daily basis
5. Monitoring and controlling freight and shipping costs within the UK, EU, and beyond
6. Managing project-based purchasing activities
7. Driving process improvements aligned with business objectives
8. Overseeing stock levels of repeat order items via MRP systems
Person Specification of the Purchasing Manager:
9. Proven experience in procurement or purchasing within a manufacturing environment
10. Demonstrated leadership skills managing a team in a fast-paced setting
11. Strong negotiation and influencing abilities
12. Excellent analytical and numerical skills
13. Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems
14. Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills
15. Ability to work calmly and professionally under pressure
