Requirements Engineer – Advanced Weapon Systems
Location: Hybrid, 2–4 days per week on-site (depending on project needs)
Salary: Up to £55,000 (DOE)
Clearance Requirement: British Citizen or Dual with British citizenship
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Requirements Engineer to join a world-leading defence technology organisation working on one of the UK’s most advanced weapon system programmes. The Role:
You’ll play a critical part in the systems engineering lifecycle, focusing on defining, analysing and managing system requirements to ensure technical integrity and traceability across design, integration and verification. This is a high-visibility role within a collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment delivering cutting-edge capability to the UK defence sector.
Key Responsibilities:
* Capture, analyse and manage system and subsystem requirements throughout the lifecycle
* Ensure requirement traceability from user needs through to design, test and validation stages
* Support system proving, design assurance and certification processes
* Collaborate closely with design authorities, customers and stakeholders to align requirements with technical and operational needs
* Conduct impact assessments, trade studies and configuration control related to requirement changes
* Communicate technical and non-technical information clearly across teams and stakeholders
* Support verification and validation activities to confirm system compliance with requirements
Skills & Experience Required:
* Strong background in Requirements Engineering or Systems Engineering, ideally in defence, aerospace or other safety-critical domains
* Hands-on experience with requirements management tools such as DOORS, DOORS NG or Rhapsody
* Understanding of systems design, verification and certification processes
* Excellent analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills
* Confident communicator, able to convey complex information clearly to varied audiences
* Self-motivated and delivery-focused with a proactive approach to technical challenges
