Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a (0.5 WTE) band 8 Senior Practitioner Psychologist / Specialist Psychological Therapist to join an innovative and growing Psychological Services Department within a large acute hospital Trust. The department comprises clinical psychologists, practitioner psychologists, psychotherapists, and counsellors working across specialties including Neuropsychology, Spinal, Pain, Burns, Oncology, and Palliative Care Services. We actively encourage supervision, CPD, and service-related research. The department takes trainees from local training courses in Clinical Psychology, Health Psychology, and Counselling Psychology, with strong academic links. Clinical supervision and professional support are provided by experienced Practitioner Psychologists within the MY Psychological Services Department. The post holder will contribute to the Medicine Specialty and support patients across three hospital sites. The ideal candidate should be enthusiastic, motivated, resourceful, and skilled in delivering psychological treatments within multidisciplinary teams.
Main duties include providing psychological assessments and treatments for patients with complex medical conditions, offering advice and consultation to colleagues, and supporting the Medicine Specialty within the department.
