Veterinary Surgeon (Small Animal) – Suffolk Part-Time | Independent Practice | Up to £65,000 DOE (Pro Rata) An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Veterinary Surgeon to join a thriving, independent small animal practice in Suffolk. This role is ideal for a GP/Consulting Vet looking to develop their clinical skills within a supportive and well-equipped environment. About the Practice This well-established veterinary practice, founded in the 1970s, has grown into a respected group of four independent surgeries across West Suffolk. Despite its growth, it has retained a friendly, community-focused approach while embracing modern veterinary advancements. The practice offers a diverse and stimulating caseload, combining first-opinion work with more complex medical and surgical cases. Veterinary Surgeons regularly manage: Routine consultations and preventative care Complex inpatients (e.g. sepsis management, CRIs, chest drains) Post-operative care including orthopaedics and spinal cases Exotic and varied cases, from companion animals to wildlife Facilities & Equipment The practice is fully equipped with advanced veterinary technology, including: CT scanner Digital x-ray and ultrasound Video endoscopy Dental radiography Ventilators Purpose-built surgical and inpatient facilities With multiple certificate holders on-site, the practice also accepts referrals in imaging, orthopaedics, cardiology, and critical care. The Team The successful candidate will join a team of 10 experienced Veterinary Surgeons, supported by a highly skilled nursing team, including nurses with postgraduate qualifications and advanced certificates. This collaborative environment provides excellent support while allowing for clinical freedom and case continuity. Location – Suffolk Located in a picturesque Suffolk market town, the practice offers the perfect balance of countryside living and modern convenience.
