Therole
Fugro is recruiting aLaboratory Technician to join their soils laboratory based inConsett. The laboratory uses state of the art equipment to analysesoil and rock samples from our ground investigation projects aroundthe UK. As a Laboratory Technician, your role will be to performlaboratory tests using data logging equipment, recording data inhandwritten format and entering it into bespoke data processingtemplates working alongside the laboratory team as well as thewider Fugro staff and site staff including drillers, geotechnicalengineers and project managers. The test data you create will thenprovide the basis for the design and modelling of buildings andinfrastructure. There is also potentially opportunity to work onsite, monitoring and testing in the field and assistinggeotechnical engineers on offshore drillingvessels.
Who we're lookingfor:
GCSE English, Maths andScience Grades 1-4 or equivalent qualifications isessential.
Completedapprenticeship or served at least 2 years as a Trainee Technician(consideration will also be given to candidates with no experience,who can demonstrate the necessary aptitude to carry out this lineof work).
General computerliteracy including Microsoft Excel.
Strong communication, teamwork, planning andproblem-solving skills with being adaptive to changing context ofwork tasks and the ability to work in a safe and risk awaremanner.
Previous experienceof working in a laboratory and a Full UK Driving License isdesired.
