This role is a fantastic opportunity for a finance professional with a background in local authority finance to make a meaningful impact and support the financial health of client’s organisation. Role Overview: As a Finance Officer, you will play a key role in managing budgets, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements. Your understanding of local government financial regulations and practices will be essential in supporting both operational and strategic decision-making across departments. Key Responsibilities: * Assist in the preparation and monitoring of budgets across departments * Prepare financial statements, reports, and reconciliations * Support the year-end closing process and assist with external audits * Ensure compliance with financial regulations, policies, and procedures * Provide financial advice and support to service managers and budget holders * Assist in the preparation of grant claims and financial returns * Contribute to the continuous improvement of financial systems and processes Requirements: * Proven experience in a finance role within a local authority or public sector organisation * AAT qualification (or equivalent); part-qualified accountant (CIPFA, ACCA, CIMA) desirable * Strong understanding of public sector finance regulations and budgetary control * Excellent numerical and analytical skills * Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel * Strong communication and interpersonal skills * Ability to work independently and as part of a team How to Apply: Please hit “Apply Now” or send your CV over to Magda.
