Are you an experienced journalist looking to make your next career move into the fast-paced world of commercial content within the exciting world of food, drink and retail media? Are you highly organised with a keen eye for detail and passionate about digital publishing?
If so, we are looking for a Commercial Content Editor who will help drive a new era of digital revenues across our brands including The Grocer, Convenience Store and Forecourt Trader. Working within a passionate Commercial Content team, the role will work closely with our commercial and editorial teams and will be responsible for commercial content projects from inception to creation and delivery to reporting, creating engaging content that delivers for readers while also ensuring advertisers ROI is achieved.
What you’ll be doing
* Researching, writing and editing engaging commercial content and promotional copy
* Creating and controlling project schedules to ensure deadlines are met
* Cultivating relationships with clients and internal stakeholders to ensure a smooth delivery and experience
* Working proactively in conjunction with the Commercial Content Director and commercial teams to generate fresh new content, audience and revenue opportunities
* Monitoring and producing reports on the performance of client campaigns, in line with KPIs
* Managing freelance journalists, videographers and designers ensuring content is delivered in time and within budget
* When appropriate, participating in client calls and proposing enterprising content ideas to help win new business
* From time to time, interviewing clients face-to-face and hosting roundtables, podcasts and segments at events, attending industry events and video shoots
* Setting up and proofing articles on our CMS system and liaising with clients on revisions
Requirements
What you’ll need:
* Strong, imaginative and passionate journalist with a proven record of researching and producing engaging, informative content, ideally with a B2B publication
* Experience working with clients to produce content that meets audience needs but delivers for clients is highly desirable
* Experience producing and delivering content in a face-to-face setting is desirable, but not essential
* A creative and entrepreneurial mindset with great business acumen to problem solve, challenge and influence
* Exceptional communication, collaboration and presenting skills with the ability to cultivate strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
* Excellent organisation and prioritisation skills to project manage with self-drive and ability to work at pace to tight deadlines
* Fantastic attention to detail
* Knowledge and experience of CMS systems and project management tools (such as Monday.com and MS Excel) is desirable
* An interest and understanding of digital marketing, SEO, Google or Web analytics would be advantageous
* An understanding of digital publishing and editorial standards is desirable
* Willingness to travel to our Gatwick office once a month and occasionally travelling to clients and industry events
