Stamford School are seeking a passionate and innovative Teacher of Computing to join our team and deliver an outstanding Computing curriculum to our students. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated educator to make a real impact by equipping students with the digital skills and knowledge they need to thrive in a rapidly evolving technological world.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a variety of Computing courses; Technology for Learning in Y7, Computing and Coding in Y8, Computer Science and Creative iMedia in Y9-11, and Computer Science and Digital Media in Y12-13, as well as assisting with the organisation of national computing and creative competitions throughout the year. As part of their responsibilities, the successful candidate will encourage and support the use of technology in teaching and learning and will work closely with other members of the department to develop and implement engaging and inspiring lessons that meet the needs of all our students.
This role could suit an ambitious, early career teacher (ECT) or an established practitioner seeking a new and exciting challenge. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a truly collaborative environment, where they will be encouraged to share ideas and work closely with colleagues to develop engaging and inspiring lessons.
This role is expected to have a start date of 1st January 2026.
Essential Criteria
* Have a good honours degree in an appropriate discipline and a post-graduate certificate in education or similar.
* Experience of teaching across the full 11-18 range or at least 11-16 for an ECT.
* Willingness to engage with Continuing Professional Development.
* Demonstrate a good knowledge and understanding of current educational issues relating to Computing and the media industry.
* Have high expectations for students; setting realistic, but challenging targets, engendering students who are enthusiastic about the subject and highly motivated to continue with their studies.
* Demonstrate a sound knowledge and understanding of how to promote equalities and ensure inclusive teaching and learning practices.
* Ability to inspire, challenge, motivate and empower students in achieving high ambitions and challenging targets.
* Proficient in the use of IT with a commitment to maximise the benefits of new technologies.
* Able to build and maintain effective relationships with staff, students and parents.
* Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, with staff, students, parents and the wider community.
* Be a reflective practitioner who seeks advice and support when necessary.
* Ability to prioritise and manage time effectively, particularly in relation to balancing the demands made by teaching.
* Readiness to further own professional development through INSET.
* Committed to safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion.
* An ability to work collaboratively and network with other professional within and beyond School.
