Role Description
We are seeking a committed Senior Residential Care Worker for a full-time, on-site role based in Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire. Responsibilities include overseeing day-to-day activities within the care home, providing guidance and support to young people, maintaining a safe and positive environment, and acting as a role model. The role involves mentoring junior staff, implementing care plans, ensuring compliance with safeguarding procedures, and assisting young people in achieving their personal development goals. Supporting the emotional and physical well-being of residents and addressing any challenges they face will be key aspects of this position.
Qualifications
* Experience in Residential Care, and the ability to effectively support and mentor young people in therapeutic settings
* Proficiency in Team Leadership, Staff Mentoring, and collaborative working practices
* Strong communication, relationship-building skills, and the ability to work closely with young people, families, and professionals
* Knowledge of Safeguarding Procedures, Risk Assessment, and Health and Safety regulations
* NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare or equivalent, or willingness to work toward achieving this qualification
* Ability to handle challenging behavior with patience, empathy, and professionalism
* Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, and the ability to make decisions within a fast-paced environment
* Experience working in a children’s residential home with Ofsted-regulated standards is highly desirable
* A valid driver’s license is mandatory for this position
