‘Success for All’ For January 2027, the Interim Executive Board of Raddlebarn Primary School invite applications for the role of Headteacher, offering an exceptional opportunity to lead a thriving and inclusive school at the heart of the Selly Oak community in Birmingham. The school currently has an Interim Executive Board in place but will be returning to a full governing body model during Autumn term 2026. Situated in the vibrant and diverse community of Selly Oak, Raddlebarn benefits from its proximity to some of Birmingham’s most respected institutions, including the University of Birmingham and The Queen Elizabeth Hospital. The next Headteacher will join a committed and talented staff team and will have the opportunity to build upon the school’s strengths while shaping its next chapter with energy, optimism and vision. We are seeking an inspiring, reflective and outward-looking leader who combines warmth with resilience, strategic thinking and sound judgement. The successful candidate will be passionate about teaching and learning, committed to inclusion and SEND, and dedicated to achieving the very best outcomes for all pupils. They will be an established Headteacher or experienced senior leader with a proven track record of improving educational standards, developing staff and fostering a positive, outward facing school culture. Raddlebarn Primary School is deeply committed to appointing, supporting and working alongside a Headteacher who will continue to nurture the school’s strong community ethos while driving excellence and innovation for the next generation. Raddlebarn Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be subject to all necessary pre-employment checks. The pre-employment checks include: Enhanced DBS; Prohibition check; Childcare Disqualification (where applicable); qualifications (where applicable) medical fitness; identity, Birth Certificate and right to work. All applicants will be required to provide two suitable references. The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, and the amendments to the Exemption Order 1975, 2013 and 2020.
