The Resource Planning Team ensures Amazon’s Fulfillment Centers have robust and cost-effective labor plans while constantly innovating to improve our customers’ experience. This person will work with stakeholders and data sources to recommend ongoing hourly staffing plans and shift structures across all European Fulfillment Centers. We are looking for a passionate, analytical, and technical individual who will relentlessly dive deep to improve the accuracy and efficiency of the planning process.
A planner is expected to influence network-level strategic decisions by partnering with senior stakeholders. The ideal candidate will possess an analytical background that supports network planning and demonstrate the ability to think broadly and strategically about operational initiatives. They will encounter a wide range of problem-solving situations, requiring extensive data collection and analysis. They will collaborate closely with multiple business teams, including FC operations leadership, HR, finance, supply chain, transportation, and the software development team in Seattle.
Responsibilities include:
1. Interacting with and influencing business and finance stakeholders to gather and present data.
2. Supporting input forecasting through trend analysis and statistical modeling to inform decision-making.
3. Managing production planning, cost, and service optimization for the IN network.
4. Building short, medium, and long-term operational plans to minimize variable staffing costs.
5. Analyzing and solving business problems, focusing on root causes and forward-looking opportunities.
6. Communicating complex analyses and insights effectively to stakeholders and business leaders, both verbally and in writing.
7. Participating in global operational and production planning initiatives and project rollouts to support business growth.
8. Promoting process improvement and standardization across all network sites.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
* 5+ years of experience with Excel (including VBA, pivot tables, array functions, Power Pivots, etc.) and data visualization tools such as Tableau.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
