Customer Service Operator
Newark, Nottinghamshire Hybrid Working Available £28,000 – £33,000 DOE Monday – Friday | 8:30am – 5:15pm
We are currently recruiting for a Customer Service Operator role on behalf of a growing freight forwarding business that is establishing a new office in Newark.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with freight forwarding operational experience who is looking to grow with a business long term and progress into a more senior commercial or account management position over time.
The business is currently in an exciting growth phase, with a newly established office and ambitious plans for expansion. The successful candidate will join a close-knit team and play a key role in supporting daily operations while helping shape the future of the office as it develops.
Key Responsibilities
• Supporting day-to-day freight forwarding operations• Loading and managing operational jobs within the system• Completing customs entries and related documentation• Liaising with hauliers, suppliers, and customers• Building and maintaining strong supplier relationships• Providing excellent customer service and operational support• Assisting with the onboarding and mentoring of future team members and apprentices
The Ideal Candidate
• Experience within freight forwarding operations• Customs entry knowledge would be highly advantageous• Strong organisational and communication skills• Confident speaking with customers, suppliers, and hauliers• Ambitious and eager to progress into a more commercial/account management focused role over time• Able to work independently within a growing office environment
