About the Role
As an In-House Senior Editor, you will take ownership for overseeing submissions, quality peer review and technical editing to ensure we publish high-quality research. You will build global relationships with people and institutes in the medical and research community to identify new material and authors.

Responsibilities
1. Arranging peer reviews and commissioning content to ensure the successful and timely production of a targeted number of articles per year
2. Scanning literature and writing editorials on a rota basis to keep up-to-date with developments in the field, and to identify possible new content and contributors for the journal
3. Attending conferences, meetings, laboratory, and institute visits to develop and maintain links with the international medical research community
4. Commissioning commentary and correspondence to engage readership
5. Technical editing of research, review and commentary to ensure clear and accurate communication of scientific findings
6. Working closely with the Editor-in-Chief to arrange new ways of communicating research, including interviewing authors for podcasts
Requirements
7. An MD or PhD with postdoctoral experience in a relevant subject, or, a postgraduate higher degree in a relevant discipline
8. Demonstrate high-level understanding of biological and medical sciences
9. Have an exceptional command of the English language and the ability to write in an engaging and interesting manner
10. Be able to communicate and negotiate constructively with clinical researchers, members of the medical profession, the media, and colleagues
11. Have proficiency with IT systems including MS Office
12. Enjoy collaborating with teams to deliver successful projects and initiatives on-time
13. Have a natural ability to engage, influence and build relationships with stakeholders, teams and our community
14. Be able to travel to internationally for meetings and conferences
