An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Higher Level Medical Secretary to work in the one-stop lung clinic within the Respiratory Secretary team at The Princess Royal Hospital, Telford.
You should already possess 4 GCSEs (grades 9 - 4 or C - A) or equivalent, RSA stage 3 typing, word processing (or have equivalent experience), knowledge of MS Office, and be qualified or working towards NVQ Level 3 in Business/Medical Admin or AMSPAR.
The ability to plan and prioritize a varied workload is essential, as are good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with staff at all levels.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will produce accurate clinical and general correspondence, often using complex and sensitive medical terminology from audio transcription.
The post holder will also respond to telephone calls from anxious and distressed patients, handling sensitive and difficult enquiries appropriately.
